Love this farmers market. Would ask the owner of the cafe to get those poor woman some help. They are overworked and angry, and it is reflected in every move they make.

The Mississippi Farmers Market in Jackson is truly an early Saturday tradition worth keeping. Every weekend, the market comes alive with the sounds of conversation, laughter, and the smell of fresh produce. From farm-fresh eggs and vibrant greens to sweet fruit and jars of pure honey, it’s a showcase of Mississippi’s best homegrown offerings. Beyond produce, the market features an impressive variety of vendors selling handmade trinkets, colorful quilts, rustic pottery, and soothing organic balms and oils. One of the highlights for me is exploring the tables filled with unique treats like pecan candy, creamy cheesecake jars, and tangy or kool-Aid homemade pickles. My personal favorite vendor is Rubie’s Daughter Homemade Creations, owned by Tonza Deberry. Her handcrafted products capture the warm, homemade spirit that defines this market. Prices range from reasonable to a bit pricey, but every purchase feels worthwhile knowing it supports local farmers, small businesses, and the community as a whole. This was my first time visiting and other than the heat, I had a nice time. It’s a great opportunity to support small businesses from farmers to creatives.

The dinner at the Farmers Market is great homestyle food. Had the baked Chicken. Highly recommend. Will be back.
